L’Oréal Paris opens its first ever beauty boutique in Lisbon

JLL acted on the letting of the new store

​​​Beauty giant L’Oréal Paris has chosen to open its first beauty boutique concept store in the world in the Chiado district in central Lisbon, with Jones Lang LaSalle acting as leasing agents. The 180 sq m store in Rua Nova do Almada 109, exclusively brings together the whole range of L’Oréal Paris beauty products and a number of specialised services such as makeup, hair and skin diagnostics, to provide for the first time, the full L’ Oréal Paris beauty experience.

Patrícia Araújo, Head of Retail at JLL, commented: “Chiado is currently one of the most sought after retail areas in Portugal by international brands who want to have a high street position. Although the scarcity of spaces in this area can often limit the opening of new store units, we were able to secure the ideal lease for L’Oréal Paris in what was previously a Levi’s shop.”

She added: “Several international brands mostly aimed at the middle to high end of the market, already have positions in Rua Nova do Almada which is fast becoming a natural way for brands to expand from Rua Garrett and Rua do Carmo, the main shopping streets in Chiado.”

Paulo Matos, Purchasing Director of L’Oréal Portugal, said: “Lisbon, particularly Chiado, is known for its elegance, sophistication and fashion - it was the perfect fit with the values of our brand.”

Matos added: “With this new store, L’Oréal Paris wants to strengthen its already close relationship with the Portuguese women, and build on the base it has been constructing since 1962 when it first came to Portugal. That is the reason why we have developed a completely new concept. For the first time in the world we have brought together in the same space all the products from all the categories represented by the brand and added to them all the services so as to provide a full beauty experience. In this store women will get advice and personal tips from great professional beauticians on how to recreate at home the beauty treatments which improve their beauty even more.”
