JLL is joining the 2016 edition of Web Summit, Europe’s largest conference on entrepreneurship, innovation and technology, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 7th – 10th November.
JLL is the only real estate company in attendance, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to innovation and technology-driven change.
The Portuguese capital, chosen to host the event for the next three years, will welcome over 50,000 CEOs, founders of companies and start-ups, investors and political leaders from 150 countries across the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities created by the ongoing technological revolution.
Pedro Lancastre, Managing Director of JLL Portugal, said: "Real estate, which is typically fixed and immovable, is traditionally slow to respond to change – but technology is not. Technology is changing the way we live, work, shop and have fun, and consequently, the way we search for, purchase and use property. “Attending the Web Summit is an excellent opportunity for us to further understand how other industries are responding to the challenges and opportunities presented by technology, and to show our commitment to embedding technology and innovation both in our own business and in the advice we give to our clients globally.
“Lisbon’s nomination to host this global summit for the next three years showcases the city’s true potential and dedication to digital innovation. 97% of conference attendees are international, which highlights the capital’s appeal to global companies, talent, investors, residents and tourists alike.”Notes to Editors:
