Last year sales of corporate real estate across the EMEA region raised over €23.1bn - a 33% increase on 2018 and the fifth year running that corporate disposals have exceeded €15bn. Our new report looks at 2019 disposals across all major European markets by different asset types and sectors and the underlying trends behind these.
Our data covers all corporate real estate sales from surplus property to short and long-term sale and leasebacks and also looks at some of the different funding structures being used to deliver new facilities.
At a time when debt markets and other capital sources are more constrained, due to heightened uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, corporate real estate sales are expected to remain active in 2020 as many corporates and owner-occupiers seek out new sources of capital, increased liquidity and start to rethink what they need from their future real estate portfolios.
